Your Right to Delete Your Data
At New Africa, we respect your right to control your personal information.
You may request:
- Deletion of your account
- Deletion of your personal data
- Removal of specific content
- Permanent account closure
This right is provided in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and other relevant regulations.
Option 1: Delete Your Account Inside the App (Recommended)
You can permanently delete your account directly within the New Africa app:
- Open the New Africa app
- Go to Settings
- Select Privacy & Security
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm your request
Once confirmed, your deletion request will be processed.
Option 2: Submit a Manual Deletion Request
If you cannot access your account, you may submit a deletion request by email.
Please send an email to:

Include the following information:
- Full name
- Username
- Email address linked to the account
- Country
- Reason for deletion (optional)

Account Deletion Request – New Africa
For security purposes, we may request additional verification to confirm your identity before processing your request.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account
When your deletion request is processed:
- Your profile will be permanently removed
- Your posts, comments, and media will be deleted
- Your follower and engagement data will be removed
- Your personal information will be erased from active databases
However:
- Some anonymized or aggregated data may remain for analytics purposes
- Data may be retained where required by law
- Backups may take up to 30 days to fully purge
Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Processing Time
We aim to process deletion requests within:
7–30 days, depending on verification requirements.
You will receive confirmation once your account has been deleted.
Exceptions
We may retain certain information if:
- Required by law
- Needed to resolve disputes
- Required to enforce our Terms
- Necessary for fraud prevention or security investigations
Any retained data will be limited and secured.
Data Associated With Third Parties
If you signed in using:
- Apple
- Third-party payment services
You may also need to manage your data directly with those providers.
